Apples and Yams by Annette DuLaney

You can combine yams with apples, and they are delicious:

Bake the yams in your oven at 400 degrees F. for about an hour or until slightly soft. Remove and cool. Peel and slice when cool and add to apples (see below).

apples go well with yamsPeel, core and slice several apples, put in a pyrex dish with some water and cinnamon, cover with saran wrap and heat in the microwave for a couple or minutes until tender. Combine apples with the yams into a casserole. You can then keep it hot in the oven until you serve it.

My mother used to bake some meat or sausage with sliced yams and apples and that was tasty, although we don't do that one anymore.

This is a quick, easy dish to do and goes great with Thanksgiving dinner.
